Ten swimmers from Oddicombe took part in a 50 length sponsered swim, along with leander swimmers, to raise money for the clubs. The first 4 Oddicombe swimmers were 1st Rob Brown 2nd Kyle 3rd Grace Staples and 4th Jack Staples.

Oddicombe swimmers continued their impressive improvement if form at the Scott Ormsby Gala at Teignmouth Lido recently, finishing second to eventual winners Newton Abbot. Disappointing disqualifications in four events reduced Oddicombe’s overall points total.
In the individual events four swimmers, Jack Skerritt, Alex Everett, Catherine Harvey and Whitney Bowrin won both of their events. Valuable points were gained by Kyle Acheson and Stephanie Lees who both came second in both of their individual races. Annie Howitt, Harriet Dorrington, Robert Harvey, Aidan Brown, James Murray and Max Vale all chipped in by finishing second in their individual races.
In the relays Oddicombe won three events, and finished second in a further four proving the Oddicombe Squad’s new strength in depth.
The winning relay teams were the Girls 11 and 12 Years Freestyle Team (Zoe Lewis, Victoria Bremner, Catherine Harvey, and Gemma Collins), Boys 13 and 14 years Medley Team (Alex Murray, Bradley Sanders, Robert Harvey, James Moss) and Boys 15 and 16 years relay squad (Max Vale, Matt Collis, Aidan Brown, James Murray, Glen Willis) who won both their relay events.

In the final two events Oddicombe kept their momentum going by finishing in second place in both Cannon Relays. The Girls team was represented by Harriet Dorrington, Annie Howitt, Catherine Harvey, Gemma Collins, Amelia Skerritt, Tamsin Owen, Whitney Bowrin and Steph Lees and the Boys team by Carl Johnson, Kyle Acheson, Jack Skerritt, Alex Everett, Alex Murray, James Moss, James Murray and Max Vale.
The youngest members of the squad deserve a special mention, although inexperienced they added valuable points to the Oddicombe total and gained an appetite to swim in galas, and fight for places in Oddicombes Speedo League Squad in the autumn. Annie Howitt, Harriet Dorrington, Elizabeth Bremner, Rebecca Fannon, Hannah Owen, Annabel Greenwell, Kyle Acheson, Carl Johnson, Phil Reddaway, Cameron Morris and Gregg Andrews all showed great promise for the future.
The final result was Newton Abbot 153 points, Oddicombe 126 points, Paignton 114 points and Torquay Leander 88 points
